For those of you with "tried and true" nutritious recipes that you'd like to share with all of us, please send your recipe, a photo of the finished dish (if you'd like), and your name (if you'd like to have it published here).

All recipes submitted receive equal consideration.


Preparation:
Make pie crust.  Measure 1/3 C. flour and blend into a paste with 1/4C. water.  Combine remaining flour, sugar and salt.  Cut in the butter.
Turn in the flour paste and form into a dough.
Roll out the bottom crust. Spread with Melted butter brown sugar and pecans.
Turn into pie shell.  Dot with butter
Roll out remaining crust.  Cut into strips.  Arrange in lattice over filling.  Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 425 for 10 minutes.  Lower heat to 350 and continue baking for 40 to 45 minutes (or until golden brown)
Cool Slightly.  Serve warm for best flavor
Kahlua Apple Pie

(An absolute favorite for all of our
family Holiday Dinners)

Ingredients, 1 9-inch pie:

Crust:
2 C.    All Purpose Flour
           (I use Medium Spelt)
1/4 C. Granulated Sugar
             Dash of Salt
1/4 C.  Water
2/3 C.  Butter
2Tbs.   Melted Butter
1/4 C.  Brown Sugar
1/2 C.  Chopped Pecans

Filling:
6          Large cooking apples,
             peeled and Sliced
1/4 C.  Kahlua Liqueur
1/4 C.  Brown Sugar
1/4 C.  All Purpose Flour
            (Again I use Medium Spelt)
1 Tbs.  Butter
             Melted butter and Sugar
